In Vidalytics, publishing a video is how you push your changes live. Think of it as saving your work to the web — any update you make to your video's settings, thumbnail, CTAs, or any other configuration only takes effect for your viewers once you hit Publish.
Your embed code never changes. Publishing simply tells Vidalytics to update what that embed code delivers to your audience.
How Publishing Works
After uploading a video
Once your video finishes transcoding, it is automatically published and ready to play — no extra steps needed. Your video is live from the moment processing completes.
After making changes
Any time you update your video — whether it is a setting, a thumbnail, a CTA, a chapter, or anything else in Vid Settings — you need to click Publish to apply those changes. Until you do, your viewers will continue to see the previous version.
The Publish button is located at the top right of your Video Settings page.

Think of it this way: every time you make a change in Video Settings, clicking Publish is the final step that makes it real. Skipping it means your viewers won't see it.
Common Situations Where You Need to Republish
- You updated or replaced your thumbnail
- You added, edited, or removed a CTA
- You changed your autoplay, seeking bar, or playback settings
- You added chapters or modified their timestamps
- You enabled or disabled any feature in Vid Settings
- You replaced your video file
Important: If your video is embedded on a live page and you make changes without republishing, your audience will not see the update. Always publish after making any change you want to go live.
A Quick Note on Caching
After you publish, it may take a moment for changes to appear on your live page due to browser or CDN caching. If you do not see your update right away, try clearing your browser cache or opening the page in an incognito window to confirm the changes are live.
