Video Chapters — Help Viewers Navigate Your Longer Content
How to break your video into named sections so viewers can find exactly what they are looking for.
If you have a long video — a course module, a webinar replay, a detailed product demo, or an in-depth training — Video Chapters let you divide it into clearly labeled sections that viewers can jump between directly. Instead of scrubbing through a long timeline, your viewers see a clean chapter menu and can navigate straight to the part they need.
Availability & Restrictions
- Video Chapters are available on Pro plans and above
- Not available on Starter or Free plans
- Video Chapters cannot be used with the Rapid Engage Bar — you will need to use a standard seeking bar for chapters to work
How to Set It Up
Access your Video Settings — open your video library, select the video you want to update, and click Edit to open its settings.
Enable Video Chapters — go to the Style tab and scroll down to locate the Chapters option. Toggle it on to enable chapters for this video.
Create your chapters — once enabled, you can start adding chapters. For each chapter, set the timestamp where it begins and give it a name. Each chapter starts at the time you define and ends where the next one begins.![]()
Note: The timestamp you enter is the start of that chapter — your previous chapter automatically ends where the next one begins. Plan your chapter names and timestamps before setting them up to make the process quicker.
Save and Publish — once your chapters are set, save your settings and publish your video for the changes to go live.
When to Use Video Chapters
Chapters work best when your video has distinct sections that viewers might want to navigate between or return to. Great use cases include:
- Online courses and training videos — label each lesson or module so students can jump back to a specific topic without rewatching the whole video
- Webinar replays — break the session into sections like intro, presentation, Q&A, and closing so viewers can skip to what they missed
- Long-form product demos — separate the overview, feature walkthrough, pricing, and next steps so prospects can revisit the parts most relevant to them
- Tutorial videos — give step-by-step content clear chapter markers so viewers can easily find the step they are stuck on
- Interview or podcast-style videos — label each topic or guest segment for easy navigation
Benefits
- Better Viewer Experience — viewers spend less time scrubbing and more time watching the content that matters to them
- Increased Watch Time — when viewers can find their spot easily, they are more likely to return and continue watching rather than dropping off
- Professional Polish — chapters signal that your content is well-organized and worth the viewer's time
- Easier Content Repurposing — clearly structured videos are easier to reference, share, and build follow-up content around
