[CTAs](https://help.vidalytics.com/conversion-engagement-tools?hsLang=en#ctas) # Setting Up Call To Action (CTA) Buttons ## In this article we will explain how Call to Action buttons work and provide a step by step guide to set them up on your video. **Call To Action buttons (CTAs)** are an excellent way to push viewers toward a desired action on your website, after or while they watch your video, like buying your product, signing up for your webinar, opting into your list, etc.  Setting up CTAs in Vidalytics is super easy and flexible, follow these steps to do so. Access Video Settings:** The first thing you have to do is go to your video settings page \> Marketing and open the Call To Actions section. **2. Create a New CTA:** Once you open the Marketing tab locate the CTA option and click on '**Create New CTA**'. The first thing you'll have to do is add text to your CTA, and a redirection link: (Mark the "Open link in a new tab" if you'd like to redirect them to your site without closing the video). **Note*:*** Make sure that your link has either http:// or https:// at the beginning. **3. Choose Placement:** Then choose where to place your CTA in relation to your video. Placement options: - **Below your video and reserving space**, means that your video container will, upon loading, already be sized to include your CTA button once it's time for it to display. - **Below your video and expanding the container**, means that the container of the actual CTA won't display until the button appears, which in turn means any content below your video will be pushed down on your page at this point. - '**On top**' means that your CTA will show up on top of your video, inside of its main container, and not seemingly as a separate element. - **Custom HTML** means any kind of content you'd like to show below your video at a specific in-video time, such as order boxes. **Note:** Learn more on how to setup **Custom HTML CTAs [HERE](https://help.vidalytics.com/how-to-set-up-custom-html-ctas-in-vidalytics?hsLang=en)** **4. Set Display Time:** Next up is the time at which you'd like the button to appear. Display Time options: - A **timed CTA (AKA Display time)**, is pretty straightforward. It'll show up between the times you specify in the From and To fields. If you leave the 'To' field empty, we'll display your CTA all the way till the end of the video. - **Exit CTA** will only be shown when your video is paused, giving you another chance to grab your viewer's attention. **5. Exit Full Screen on CTA Trigger:** You can now configure your CTA so that when it is triggered, the video automatically exits full screen. This ensures your viewer can see the CTA button without it being hidden behind the full-screen player. To enable this, toggle on the **"Exit Full Screen When Triggered"** option within your CTA settings. **Why this matters:** Previously, viewers watching in full screen would not see CTA buttons appear (as noted below, CTAs do not display on mobile full screen). With this new option enabled for desktop full screen, the player will automatically drop out of full screen at the moment your CTA is triggered — so your viewer is always able to see and act on it. **6. Other options:** Enable **Show to returning viewers** if you want to display the CTA for returning viewers without having to wait to the specified time on video again. Enable the "**Only when triggered before**" if you want the returning viewers to see the CTA only if they reach the **Display Time** in their previous session. **7. Edit Style:** Select colors for your button and interactions, enable or disable their drop shadow and text/hover over text effects. Click 'Save' and your CTA Button has been created, yay! **Note:** Make sure you re-publish your video after adding or editing your CTA button(s), so your viewers can see them!
