I Can't Upload My Video — Troubleshooting Guide

If your video is not uploading successfully, one of the following is usually the cause. Work through each one to identify and resolve the issue.

Special Characters in the File Name

Vidalytics does not support special characters in video file names at the time of upload. Characters such as $, ü, ó, &, (), or other symbols can cause the upload to fail.

Fix: Rename your file to remove any special characters before uploading. Once the video is successfully uploaded, you can add those characters back to the video title inside Vidalytics if needed.

Unsupported File Type

Vidalytics supports all major video file formats including .mp4, .mov, .mkv, and most other popular video types. If you are trying to upload a non-video file or an uncommon format, it may not be accepted.

Fix: Make sure your file is a standard video format. If you are unsure, .mp4 is the most universally supported format and works best for uploads and streaming.

File Size Too Large

Vidalytics has an 8GB per file upload limit. This is enough for most videos — including long-form content like 2-hour webinars — but very large raw or uncompressed files may exceed this limit.

Fix: If your file is larger than 8GB, compress it before uploading. Reducing the file size will also improve streaming performance for your viewers. See our guide on how to compress your video for recommended tools and settings.
