Once you have uploaded a video to Vidalytics, it generates a unique embed code that you can place on any website or page. This article walks you through where to find your embed code and how to add it to your site.
Before You Embed — A Note on Transcoding
After uploading, your video goes through a transcoding process that optimizes it for fast, reliable playback. For larger files this can take up to 30 minutes. While you can grab your embed code right away, we recommend waiting until transcoding is fully complete before embedding — otherwise your video may initially appear in low quality until higher quality versions are ready.
You can check your video's status on the My Vids page. Once the red "Processing" label disappears, your video is ready.
Step 1 — Get Your Embed Code
Open your video settings — go to My Vids, select your video, and click Edit to open the settings page.
Copy your embed code — click the Embed/Share option at the top of the page to open the embed panel. Copy your embed code to the clipboard by clicking Copy Code.
Step 2 — Add the Video to Your Website
The way you embed your video will depend on which platform or page builder you are using — but the principle is the same across all of them:
Add/find the Custom HTML or Custom Code element in your page editor and paste your Vidalytics embed code into it.
Almost every major website builder and page editor includes some version of a Custom HTML or Custom JavaScript element — this is the correct element to use for embedding a Vidalytics video. Do not use a native video element, as those are designed for directly hosted video files and will not work with Vidalytics.
Once the embed code is in place and your page is saved or published, your video will be live and automatically optimized for fast playback anywhere in the world.
