The Swap Video feature lets you replace the content of an existing embed without touching your embed code or making any changes to your website. Your pages keep working exactly as before — the video playing through them simply changes.

How It Works
When you swap Video A with Video B, your embed code stays completely unchanged — it now simply points to the new video underneath. Think of it like swapping the content inside a storefront window: the address and the signage stay the same, but what is on display changes.
Here is what happens behind the scenes:
- Your embed retains its original unique identifier (GUID) — only the video it loads changes
- The original video is not deleted. It remains in your library with its data intact, it just no longer plays through that embed
- CDN cache updates may take 15 to 20 minutes to fully propagate — if you do not see the new video right away on your live page, give it a little time and then republish before testing again
Why Does the Vidalytics Preview Still Show the Old Video?
If you open the preview page inside Vidalytics after a swap and still see the original video, do not worry — this is completely expected behavior.
Preview pages in Vidalytics are tied to the video's unique ID, not the embed code. So the preview will always show the original video, while your live embedded pages will serve the new one once the cache has updated.

- ❌ Vidalytics preview pages will continue to display the original video
