Disable Pausing — Keep Viewers Watching From Start to Finish
How to prevent viewers from pausing your video at critical moments.
When a video is central to your conversion — a webinar, a sales pitch, a VSL — every second of watch time matters. Disable Pausing removes the ability for viewers to pause your video, keeping them locked into the experience and reducing the chance they get distracted, walk away, or never come back.
How It Works
When Disable Pausing is enabled, the pause control is removed from your player. Viewers cannot click to pause, which means your video plays through without interruption.
Because Disable Pausing is tied to autoplay behavior, enabling it will automatically turn on Smart Autoplay as well. You can enable Smart Autoplay on its own without Disable Pausing — but Disable Pausing requires Smart Autoplay to function.
Note: Some browsers may still allow viewers to pause video playback through external controls such as keyboard shortcuts or system media keys. Disable Pausing removes the in-player control but cannot override all browser-level behavior.
When to Use It
Disable Pausing works best when uninterrupted viewing is critical to your conversion strategy:
- VSLs and sales videos — keep viewers engaged through your pitch without giving them a natural stopping point
- Webinar replays — simulate the live webinar experience where pausing is not an option
- Short, high-impact videos — for videos designed to be watched in one sitting, removing the pause option reinforces that intent
How to Enable It
- Go to your Video Settings and open the Playback section
- Locate the Disable Pausing toggle and switch it on
- Save your settings and Publish your video for the change to go live
