Video Transcoding — What to Expect After Uploading

Understanding what happens after you upload a video and how to know when it is ready.

When you upload a video to Vidalytics, it is automatically transcoded to optimize playback quality and performance across all devices and connection speeds. Here is what to expect during that process.

How to Know Your Video Is Still Processing

While transcoding is in progress, you will see a red "Processing" label next to the video title on your My Vids page. If you navigate to the video's settings page, a message above the video player will also confirm that processing is still underway.

Once the label disappears, your video is fully transcoded and ready to go.

Can I Use the Embed Code While Waiting?

Yes — you can grab your embed code and place it on your page at any time, even before transcoding is complete. Your video will appear and be ready to play automatically once processing finishes.

Caution: We recommend waiting until transcoding is fully complete before embedding your video. Vidalytics processes the low-quality version first, so if you embed immediately, your video may initially appear in low quality. Higher quality versions are generated automatically, but your browser cache may continue serving the low-quality version even after processing is complete — making it look like that is the only version available. If this happens, clear your browser cache or open the page in an incognito window to see the final version.

How Long Does Transcoding Take?

Transcoding time depends on your video's file size and format. Most videos process within a few minutes, but larger files can take up to 30 minutes.

If your video is still showing as Processing beyond that window, please reach out to our support team and we will look into it right away.
