Tracking video performance is essential for optimizing engagement, conversions, and revenue. This guide breaks down how each metric in Vidalytics is calculated so you can confidently interpret your data. **Restrictions:** The stats page is not available on the Free plan, to gain access you will need to upgrade to one of our paid plans! Plays:** The total number of times your video has been watched. - **If autoplay is enabled**, a play is counted as soon as the video starts playing. - If a viewer unmutes and restarts the video while autoplay is still on, the play count remains **1**. #### **2. Play Rate:** The percentage of sessions where your video was played. **Formula:** ​*(Successful Plays / Total Sessions) x 100* - A **successful play** is when a viewer starts playback within a session. - **Example:** If your video had **3 sessions** and was played in **1 session**, the play rate would be **33%**. #### **3. Unique Plays:** The number of times your video has been watched, **excluding repeat viewers**. #### **4. Engagement:** The average percentage of your video that viewers watch. **Formula:** ​*(Total Watched Time) / (Total Watches × Video Length)* - **Example Calculation:** - **Total Watched Time:** 100 minutes - **Total Watches:** 20 - **Video Length:** 10 minutes - **Engagement:** (100) ÷ (20 × 10) = **50%** This means, on average, viewers are watching **half** of your video. #### **5. Conversions:** The total number of viewers who completed a desired action (e.g., opt-in, purchase, sign-up) after watching your video. #### **6. Conversion Rate:** The percentage of viewers who converted. **Formula:** ​*(Conversions / Unique Plays) × 100* #### **7. Average Order Value (AOV):** The average revenue per conversion. **Formula:** ​*(Total Revenue) ÷ (Total Conversions)* - You set the **revenue per conversion** when creating a new conversion. #### **8. Revenue:** The total income generated by this video, is based on the conversion values you assigned. #### **9. Unmute Rate:** The percentage of viewers who **actively unmute** your video. **How We Count an Unmute:** - **For Videos with Smart Autoplay (SAP) Overlay:** - If the user **clicks the overlay**, the video restarts with sound and is counted as **unmuted**. - If the video **autoplay with sound**, it is counted as **unmuted**. - If the viewer **does not interact**, the video remains muted and is **not counted as unmuted**. - **For Videos Without SAP Overlay:** - If the user **clicks Play**, the video is counted as **unmuted**. - If the video remains muted and is not clicked, it is **not counted as unmuted**. #### **Bonus Tip:** Want to calculate your video's **total watch time**? Use this formula: **Plays × Engagement × Video Length** #### **10. Bounce Rate:** The percentage of viewers that stick less than 5 seconds on the video, and no CTA or Play Gate action are triggered. #### **11. Impressions:** The number of times the video player was loaded on a Web Page.
