Overview
Use Make to automate workflows and integrate Vidalytics with other apps by setting up Video Triggers or Play Gates. This guide walks you through creating a scenario to track video engagement and trigger actions accordingly.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Create a New Scenario
Navigate to Scenarios β In the Make dashboard, click "Scenarios" in the left panel.
Create a New Scenario β Click "Create a new scenario".
Add Vidalytics β Click the plus (+) button in the center, then search for Vidalytics.
Select Video Trigger β Choose "Video Trigger" under Searches.
Step 2: Connect Vidalytics to Make
Set Up a New Connection β If this is your first time connecting Vidalytics, click "Add" next to the Connections field.
Name Your Connection β Enter a meaningful name and click "Continue".
Authenticate β Log in with your Vidalytics account to complete the connection.
Step 3: Configure the Trigger Settings
Choose a Tag β Under Tag, select a tag previously created in the Video Settings page of your Vidalytics video.
Set Scheduling Time β Keep the scheduling interval at 15 minutes (default for free plans).
Confirm Settings β Click "OK".
Step 4: Set Up the Trigger Interval
Click the clock icon in the bottom left corner of the Vidalytics module.
Choose "At regular intervals", and ensure the frequency is set to 15 minutes (default).
Click "OK".
Click the Vidalytics module again and verify that the scheduling time matches the previous setting.
Step 5: Connect Additional Modules
Add Another Module β Click the plus (+) button next to the Vidalytics module to integrate another service.
Handle Empty Data Outputs β By default, Vidalytics sends an empty array if no new events are detected. To avoid unnecessary triggers, set up a filter:
Click the wrench icon between the two modules.
Select "Set up a filter" and name it (e.g., "Ignore Empty Data").
In the first field, select "Total number of bundles".
In the next field, choose "Greater than" under Numeric Operations.
In the final field, enter 0.
Step 6: Test and Activate the Scenario
Run a Test β Click "Run Once" to test the scenario.
Check for Success β If you see green success checkmarks, the setup is correct.
Enable Scheduling β In the bottom left corner, toggle Scheduling ON to activate the automation.
