To publish a video is to make it live for your potential customers. 

After your video is transcoded, it gets automatically published and it'll be ready to play wherever you install its embed code. 

However, if you make any changes to the settings on your video, you'll need to click the 'Publish' button to the top of the video on the edit page, so the new appearance is live to your viewers.
