The Funnel View in Vid Stats gives you a visual breakdown of your video’s performance — showing exactly where viewers drop off or take action.
It turns raw analytics into a clear, step-by-step funnel so you can spot weak points, understand viewer behavior, and optimize faster.

This feature is available on Pro+ plans.

🚫 Restrictions: The Funnel View is only available starting on our Pro Plan and up.

How to Use Funnel View

  1. Open Vid Stats for any video in your Vidalytics dashboard.

  2. Click the Funnel tab at the top.

  3. View the default funnel or click Customize Funnel to select up to five steps.

  4. Hover over each bar for detailed viewer metrics.

  5. Use the Compare or Segments options for deeper insights.

  6. Export data if needed via the dropdown menu.

Benefits at a Glance

  • Instantly visualize where you lose or convert viewers

  • Eliminate guesswork with clear step-by-step drop-off data

  • Compare videos or time periods to measure improvement

  • Export data for reporting or deeper analysis

  • Make faster, data-driven video edits

What You Can Do with Funnel View

The Funnel View shows the viewer journey from first impression to conversion, allowing you to:

  • Instantly see where viewers are bouncing, skipping, or converting.

  • Identify weak spots like low CTA engagement or early drop-offs.

  • Compare funnel performance across time periods or between videos.

  • Export data for deeper analysis and reporting.

Key Features

1. Interactive Funnel Chart

A visual, chronological funnel shows how viewers progress through your video.
Each bar represents a funnel step — and how many viewers reached that point.

Hover over any step to see:

  • Total viewers at that stage

  • % drop from the previous step

  • % of total viewers

2. Custom Funnel Steps

Choose up to five steps to include in your funnel view.
You can pick from a wide list of available actions, such as:

  • Playback milestones (e.g., Watched 25%, 50%, 75%, 90%)

  • Interactions (e.g., Unmuted, Clicked CTA, Submitted Play Gate)

  • Conversions (e.g., Conversion Script Triggered)

Steps are automatically ordered by the video timeline and can’t be rearranged.
Positioning is based on when interactions occur (including Exit CTAs or Gates).
The “Converted” step always appears last in the funnel.

Coming soon: Custom script milestones as additional funnel steps.

3. Open Funnel Logic

Funnel View uses an open funnel system.
This means viewers don’t have to pass through every previous step to be counted in a later one.
For example, if Smart Autoplay is on, some viewers may watch part of your video without unmuting.
They’ll still appear under “Watched 25%” — even if they skipped the “Unmuted” step.

This ensures more accurate insights into real-world viewing behavior.

4. Segment & Compare

Analyze performance across different dimensions:

  • Segments: Compare viewer behavior by device, source, or other filters.

  • Compare Periods: See how your funnel changes over time.

  • Compare Videos: View side-by-side funnels to spot what’s working best.

When comparing videos, both will use the same funnel step configuration (up to five common steps).

5. Export Data

Need to dig deeper?
You can export funnel data in CSV or XLSX format directly from the dropdown menu.
Exports include all current filters and funnel settings for precise analysis or reporting.

Example Use Cases

  • Optimize CTAs: See if viewers drop before your CTA and adjust timing or copy.

  • Improve Hooks: Identify early drop-offs and improve your video’s first 10–20 seconds.

  • Compare Versions: Compare funnels between two edits of the same video.

  • Report Results: Export data to share with your team or clients.

Notes:

  • You can include up to five steps per funnel, and these steps are automatically ordered by the video timeline — they cannot be manually rearranged.

  • When using Compare mode, both videos will share the same funnel configuration.

  • The Funnel View uses open funnel logic, meaning viewers can skip certain steps and still be counted in later ones.

For example, a viewer might not unmute but could still reach “Watched 50%.”
This helps represent real-world engagement more accurately.

Keep in mind that setup differences (autoplay, CTAs, Play Gates) may impact the results. To ensure fair comparisons, use consistent configurations across videos.
