Clearing Your Cache — How to Force Your Browser to Load the Latest Version

What to do when published changes to your video are not showing up on your page.

If you have published changes to your video in Vidalytics but do not see them reflected on your page right away, your browser is likely serving a cached version of the page. A hard refresh forces your browser to bypass the cache and load the most up-to-date version.

How to Perform a Hard Refresh

Google Chrome

On Windows or Linux:

  • Press Ctrl + F5
  • Or hold Ctrl and click the reload button
  • Or open Developer Tools (F12), right-click the reload button, and select Hard Reload or Clear Cache and Hard Reload

On Mac:

  • Hold Shift and click the reload button
  • Or press Cmd + Shift + R

Mozilla Firefox

On Windows or Linux:

  • Press Ctrl + F5
  • Or press Ctrl + Shift + R

On Mac:

  • Hold Shift and click the reload button
  • Or press Cmd + Shift + R

Internet Explorer

  • Press Ctrl + F5
  • Or hold Ctrl and click the Refresh button

If a Hard Refresh Does Not Work

In some cases a single hard refresh may not be enough. Try these additional steps in order:

Open the page in a different browser — if the changes appear correctly in another browser, the issue is isolated to your original browser's cache.

Clear your entire browser cache — go to your browser's settings and clear all cached data, then reload the page. In Chrome, you can also do this through Developer Tools as described above.

Restart your browser — close the browser completely and reopen it. This clears any lingering cached data that a refresh alone may not remove.

Tip: If you are testing changes frequently during setup, opening your page in an incognito or private window is the quickest way to always see the latest published version — incognito windows do not use your browser's standard cache.
