Vids AI Recommendations — Let AI Suggest What to Test Next

How Vidalytics surfaces data-backed experiment recommendations directly on your Vid Stats page.

Written by Aldo Peña

Vids AI Recommendations take the guesswork out of optimization. When Vidalytics identifies a high-confidence opportunity to improve a video's performance through a settings change, a recommendation card will automatically appear on that video's Vid Stats page — telling you exactly what to test and why.

From there, you can launch a full Settings Experiment in just two clicks.

🔒 Availability & Restrictions

  • Vids AI Recommendations are available on Pro plans and above (Pro, Pro-IV, Premium, Enterprise, and Agency)

  • Recommendations appear automatically for eligible videos based on performance data — there is no way to manually request one

  • Not every video will receive a recommendation. Eligibility is determined by factors such as play volume, current settings configuration, and overall video performance

  • Only one recommendation is shown per video at a time

How Recommendations Work

Vidalytics continuously analyzes your video performance data in the background. When a video meets the eligibility criteria and a high-confidence improvement opportunity is identified, a recommendation card is generated and surfaces on the Vid Stats page for that video.

Each recommendation includes:

  • A summary of the proposed change

  • The key metric it is expected to improve

  • The reasoning behind the recommendation

Note:

  • If you decline a recommendation, it will not appear again for 7 days

  • If you manually change your video's settings after a recommendation appears, that recommendation will disappear automatically — recommendations are scored against a specific video state, so any manual change invalidates them

  • If a video enters a split test, any pending recommendations for it will be hidden automatically

  • Recommendations that are not acted on will expire automatically after 10 days

Launching a Recommended Experiment 🚀

  1. Go to the Vid Stats page for an eligible video

  2. When a recommendation is available, you'll see a recommendation card with a summary and key metric

  3. Click See Full Report to review the full context and the proposed setting changes

  4. Click Create Experiment to open the setup wizard:

    • Step 1 — Review and confirm (or adjust) the proposed variant settings

    • Step 2 — Configure your experiment settings: traffic allocation, goal metric, and guardrails

  5. Click Confirm to launch — the experiment runs as a standard Settings Experiment

💡 Tip: You can adjust the variant settings after the experiment has started using the regular settings editor.

Declining a Recommendation

Not interested in a particular recommendation? You can dismiss it with one click directly from the recommendation card. It will not appear again for 7 days.

Applying a Winner 🏆

When a winning variant is identified, a winner pop-up will appear in the Experiment profile. Click Apply to instantly copy the winning settings back to your original video — no manual adjustments needed.

Note: Make sure to re-publish your video after applying any winning settings for the changes to go live.
