Manage Video Player Settings at Scale

Written by Aldo Peña

Templates allow you to save, reuse, and apply video player settings across your videos — so everything stays consistent without manual updates.

Instead of configuring each video individually, you can create a template once and apply it anywhere. This helps you maintain consistent branding, roll out updates faster, and manage large video libraries with ease.

Templates can include settings such as player theme, controls, seek bar behavior, fullscreen options, and more. They can be applied to a single video or multiple videos at once.

How It Works

Create a Template

  1. Open any video’s Settings page

  2. Click the “…” menu

  3. Select Save as Template

  4. Add a name and description, then save

Apply a Template (Single Video)

  1. Open a video’s Settings

  2. Click “…” → Load Settings

  3. Select your template

  4. The player updates instantly

Apply a Template (Multiple Videos)

  1. Go to My Vids

  2. Select multiple videos or a folder

  3. Click Apply Template

  4. Choose your template

  5. Decide to:

    • Republish immediately, or

    • Save as draft and publish later

Benefits

  • Save Time: Configure your player once and apply it across your entire library.

  • Maintain Consistency: Ensure all videos follow the same branding and setup.

  • Faster Updates: Roll out changes across multiple videos in just a few clicks.

  • Safer Changes: Apply updates as drafts and publish only when ready.

  • Better Team Workflows: Keep everyone aligned with shared templates.

Important Note:

Templates do not include/save the following settings:

  • Thumbnails,

  • CTAs,

  • PlayGates,

  • Tags,

  • E-commerce Integration and

  • Exit thumbnails

Additional Notes and Limitations:

  • Only users with Edit Video permissions can create, update, or apply templates.

  • Templates are account-specific and not shared across accounts.

  • Applying a template will overwrite matching player settings on the selected videos.

  • Updating a template does not automatically update previously applied videos — reapply it to reflect changes.

  • Bulk updates on large sets (100+ videos) may take a few moments to process.

  • Locked or deleted videos will not update and may return an error.
